Y is for Yoopers

Who knows what a Yooper is? And, I don't mean the band. Although, they are also Yoopers in the traditional sense. It is how they got their names. Have you ever heard a Yooper speak? Sooooo, fun to listen to.

I'm a yooper, I know what I am. Say ya to do U.P. hey! You betcha! A yooper is a person born in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Those from the lower peninsula are called trolls because they live under the bridge. Many Michiganders from Lansing going north think they live in Northern Michigan, but the still have several hundred miles to go. Pasties are a main staple in life, and there is nothing in the world like fresh whitefish or lake trout right from Lake Superior sizzline under the broiler. Say YA to do UP!
