Lyric Find #2
Okay, since the last one was just not as long lasting as I thought. Here is another one. It will be longer and hopefully, I can put one or two in here that you will all have to go to Google for , but now I am doubting that.
Here goes.
1) Put on a hell of a show
Solid gold
Fresh young face
King of a lovely place
2) Mom just give me a Pepsi please
All I want is a Pepsi, and she wouldn't give it to me
All I wanted was a Pepsi, just one Pepsi, and she wouldn't give it to me.
Just a Pepsi.
3) I need some help from a little love
I need some help from a little above
And you were there I'm still in love
4) After the turn of the century
In the clear blue skies over Germany
Came a roar and a thunder men had never heard
5) And my eyes still grow damp to remember
His Majesty signed
With his own rubber stamp.
6) I’m your lovey dovey bedtime playa
Call me the super sexy boogie man slayer
7) I can't do what ten people tell me to do
So I guess I'll remain the same, yes
8) Too late or soon to make noise about love and there's no time for sorrow
Run around in the rain with a hole in the brain till tomorrow
9) Going from this land here to that
In a sailor's suit and cap
Away from the big city
10) I could have lost myself
In rough blue waters in your eyes,
And I miss you still
Also, here are a few fake mastercard commercials that are, well, "Priceless."
Boston World Series Champs(click the link that says Red Sox Mastercard Commercial)
Indecent Proposal(don't watch around kids or at work)
Alright everyone, good luck, have fun and all that garbage.
14 Comments:
2 is that Suicidal Tendencies song "Insitution" or "Institutionalized" or whatever it's called.
8 is TMBG "Letterbox".
The rest is impossible because I'm listening to songs as I read, so they all sound like New Pornographers.
Amen, Pops
2)Suicidal Tendencies-Institutionalized
8)They Might Be Giants-Letterbox
4: Snoopy vs. the Red Baron
5: Pink Floyd... Ugh... What the heck's the name of the cut.. Tigers?
7: Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay, by < strike >Michael Bolton< / strike >. Umm... Otis Redding I mean.
8: Letterbox, TMBG. (I bought "No" for my kids and they love it. I'm working hard to grow another generation of wacko subversives...)
#5 is Pink Floyd - When The Tigers Broke Free
Kal, you can never go wrong with wacko subversives or TMBG.
4)Royal Guardsmen-Snoopy v. The Red Baron(When I was younger my older brother and I used to have this on a record. The album also included a song that I cannot find called MooMoo the Cow. I loved that cow, she ate lots of hay and sat on the tracks most everyday)
5)Pink Floyd-When the Tigers Broke Free(one of the best songs in the flick, I dont know why they didn't put it on the album. Adversely, owning the DVD I know why they didn't put Hey You in the film but I still don't understand why it is not there)
7)Otis Redding(why would I have the Bolton version? He is, after all, a no talent ass clown)-Dock of the Bay
8)TMBG-Letterbox(very refeshing to see a parent raising their kids right. Pretty soon they will be telling you, "You're not the boss of me now. You're not the boss of me now."
Funktastic Digiman strikes again.
Good job!
i'm not stumped- just tired. really.
(barely awake enough to catch the office space reference, in fact.)
Duff, this is not the effort I have come to expect from you, but, I guess we can let it go this time.
Get some rest and come back tomorrow.
I don't know about the lyrics, I suck at that, but I nearly peed over those mc commericals!
Larry:
They're six and eight (the spawn). And they already tell me I'm not the boss of them, at least the eight year old does. But she's a girl, so I've come to expect to have no say over her anyway...
Yes I had neices a little older than that when married and and they were pretty much the same way. Then again, they weren't mine so I spoiled them and sent them home.
i'm afraid i had to get help on these....
you are quite the alternative guy, aren't you?
1 is "Sweet Smell of Success" by
Tomahawk
3 is "My Coco" by Stellastarr*
6 is "Fever for the Flava" by Hot Action Cop
9 is something i actually have at home (the song, not the subject)- "Heroin" by the Velvet Underground
and i'm leaving the last one alone for someone else to dig up- probably without the assistance of google.
Duff: I think most people will need help with the last one. I had never heard of the guy until i was sitting in a hotel in Colorado with my little brother and he had me listening to songs.
I have never heard any other songs by the man but it is one of my favorites on my list.
I know who it is now, but I had to do some serious searching... but I've never heard of him... I do like the lyrics tho
